Associate Scientific Director

The opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Associate Scientific Director with a proven ability in a medical communications agency for leading a scientifically focused project team in the delivery of clear, accurate and creative work for a full-time position based at our global head office in Cheshire.

key accountabilities:

  • Lead the delivery of multiple projects or programmes of work in accordance with individual project briefs and overall account priorities
  • Apply knowledge and understanding of the pharmaceutical industry to address client needs
  • Build influential relationships with clients through the application of strategic thinking
  • Work with the Programme Director and Client Services Lead to identify needs and opportunities for expansion of business through organic account growth
  • Review work from medical writers for accuracy, story flow and meeting the brief, and to ensure consistent quality of work and client strategic insights are delivered across projects
  • Produce clear, accurate and creative scientific products

key Competencies:

  • Proven scientific project leadership in a medical communications agency environment
  • Strong financial acumen
  • High level of drive, motivation and initiative
  • Proven experience in the development/mentoring/coaching of junior colleagues
  • Extensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, particularly medical affairs
  • Wide-ranging therapeutic area knowledge

qualifications:

Degree (science, preferably life science); PhD or MSc (desirable)
