Mission

The Client Finance Manager will lead the team of Finance Coordinators supporting the internal and external finance processes of Excerpta Medica. You will partner with the Finance Director and Program Directors and may be the face of finance to the client. The core of the role is to ensure the Finance Coordinators understand the clients’ budgets, commitments and spend and that this is accurately projected in forecasts. Additionally it is to ensure an efficient back-office (accounts payable, invoicing and accounts receivable). You can continue to add value by taking more responsibility for improving processes and the financial reporting of the project teams. You will work closely with the client, the project teams as well as being a member of the Finance and Administration Department. 

 

Your responsibilities are to:

  • Lead a team of 6 Finance Coordinators, to coach and build a cohesive high-performing team.
  • Assign the client accounts and back-office responsibilities across your team, standardising and implementing best practice.
  • Develop learning materials and train staff outside the department on financial processes.
  • Be responsible for a specific client account and support the team wherever the needs are greatest.
  • Together with your team:
  • Understand the clients’ finance reporting requirements and processes, producing timely and accurate Statements of Work and Project Trackers.
  • Ensure that these overviews are accurately represented in company financial projections based on budgets and forecast milestones.
  • Review projects, their status, their costs and invoicing, identifying remedial actions and implications for further training or process improvement.
  • Provide insights on client pricing, specification over-runs and reconciliation opportunities.
  • Provide additional client reporting as required on topics such as synergy savings, rebates or ad hoc analysis.
  • Other ad hoc projects could include audit support, participation in the ERP system implementation or improvement of other AP, AR, GL or other accounting workstreams

  • Partner with Program Directors on account performance, building strong relationships with senior colleagues in other departments.

  • Work with a high volume of complex data whilst being able to apply strategic thinking to see the impact of numbers on agency objectives.
  • Manage delivery to deadlines.

  • Provide ad-hoc financial support to the Finance Director and Senior Management
